Getting to the venue

Four more days to go!

We’re so excited so many folks are coming to the wedding. Here are a few options to get here:

  1. Take one of our buses! We’ve hired two buses to take people from the downtown Brooklyn hotels: the Sheraton and the Marriott. The buses will arrive at the hotel at 5:30 and will leave the hotels for the venue at 5:45 or when they are full. One bus will return after dropping off passengers to pick up stragglers. If you are not staying at the hotel and are using the buses, please drop us email! We will have a bus on-call all night; it will bring people back to downtown Brooklyn.
  2. Take a taxi or car service! Tell the taxi driver you are going to Stage 6 at Steiner Studios in the Brooklyn Navy Yard. Enter at the Washington Avenue gate off of Flushing Avenue. Drive into the Navy Yard–the security guard at the gate knows there is a wedding and will direct you. Please do not arrive before 6 pm! There is no waiting area, and the staff at Steiner Studios will send you away.
  3. Drive yourself! The venue has ample parking. Here is a map of Steiner Studios. Enter through the Washington Avenue Gate off of Flushing Avenue. The security guard will give you directions to Stage 6. Please do not arrive before 6 pm! There is no waiting area, and the staff at Steiner Studios will send you away.
  4. Take public transportation! Okay. If you really, really want to take public transportation, the B57 bus stops directly in front of the Washington Avenue gate on Flushing Avenue. Here is an example of taking a bus from our house to Stage 6 via the bus: http://goo.gl/maps/BEPuu. You probably don’t want to do this.

Here is what we don’t want you to do:

  1. If you plan on drinking, do not drive. We love you all a lot!
  2. Unless you know the area, please do not walk to the venue. It’s farther than you think through a semi-industrial neighborhood.

Please call us or send us email if you have any questions!

33 days to go

It’s around a month before the wedding, and things are going well. Our venue is set; we’ve picked out food; we’ve hired a photographer; we have fancy clothing: this wedding is going to happen!

After much hemming and hawing, we’ve updated our registry page.

As always, please let us know if you have any questions or concerns. We’re looking forward to seeing you all in around a month!

Some people have asked about the dress code for the wedding. Patti says, “they should know what to wear.” Sam says, “Let me Google that for you.” We’re having a “semi-formal evening” wedding.

Welcome

Welcome!

We hope you can join us at our wedding. We’re working on adding more information; in the coming weeks, expect information on hotel blocks in Brooklyn, directions, and so on. We look forward to hearing from you; give us a call or reach out to us via the contact us form.

Warmest regards,
Sam and Patti
